    Excited Doesn't Describe It!

Well, I signed up to Calguns on 01-08-2012, made 1 intro post, and have been reading, reading and reading. Great stuff and thanks to all who have dedicated their time to help us "not so knowlegeable folks".

So, why excited? Well, I have always admired and was interested in guns. On 01-22-12 I purchase a Colt SP6920 and a S&W M&P 40. After the longest 10 days of my life, I woke up at 2:30 a.m and "today was the day". I could of went back to sleep, but I couldnt. Went to work 4 hours early, left 2 hours early and picked them up. Haven't had a chance to give them a go, and already want another. I think I am hooked. I live in Moreno Valley, Ca. and there are a few ranges in the area. I am having a hard time choosing where to go first. Might head out to BLM Land (Barstow Area) this weekend.

I do have a question...Is it safe to trust the Geocommunicator Map that shows BLM Land (in yellow)?

Hey, that's a great Geo tool, however

don't assume that because it's BLM that you can shoot there.

I live bordering some BLM land, and in my area, no shooting allowed.

Best practice is to ask a local Ranger.

        Congrats on the new guns!!

Probably best to go to a real range the first time. There will probably be someone around if you need any help.

What part of moval are you in? Hop through Reche Canyon and go to Daves Magnum Range. 12 bucks and a good place imo.
