Gun Shop

I've heard theres a decent gunshop in Murrieta. Anybody have any experience with it?

Not sure of that one, but I know there's a decent place in Temec. on Jefferson between Overland and Winchester. I just can't remember the name.

Re the shop in Murrieta, it is called "The Shootist" and is on Washington Ave. in old town Murrieta off of Los Alamos. I have purchase a few minor items from them (OC for my wife). They are helpful and the owner is usually there.

As of right now, tho it is supposed to change soon, the gunsmith is in only one day a week. He is very helpful tho. I bought a Ruger MK III from Turners, where no one knew how to disassemble/assemble it and their gunsmith showed me.

The shop in Temecula was called "Accurate Arms." It went out of business several months ago. As far as I know, no other gun shop has reopened there.

So, there is only one for the whole area as far as I know. Hope this helps a bit.

Yep, it's called "The Shootist" and it's a nice place, well stocked, friendly and informed staff. Steve, who used to be at Accurate Arms in Temecula before it closed, now works there too. Ray the gunsmith also puts in a day a week there, as well as down at Iron Sights in Oceanside. Right now, The Shootist is pretty much the only game in town for Southwest Riverside County, which could use another gun shop or two!

I am not sure what the Shootist charges for interstate transfers but have been told that it varies based upon who you talk to. I am a transfer dealer who works out of his house in wildomar and I only charge $50 for out of state transfers. A couple of my customers have told me that the Shootist will not handle OLLs. I can get most firearms from one of my distributors. for pricing look at www.penningtonfirearms.com. The Shootist does have a pretty good selection of firearms just watch out for the owners son as he has a bad attitude and like to walk away from you when talking to him. Steve who used to work at Accurate Arms in Temecula is a good guy, he sold me my first rifle that wasn't a .22LR. He also got me started with reloading.
