    Recommend some shooting glasses

I need some new shooting glasses. I don't know the brand of the last type I had, but they had black frames and came with a set of lenses one could swap out. My use: Non-prescription, outdoors only, budget $50-75.

I stumbled upon "sunbusters" but now I'm not sure after finding some "LL Bean" glasses on amazon that look exactly the same. (I don't usually for anything sold by LL Bean, Eddie Bauer, Restoration HW etc. - it all seems to be rebranded stuff.)

    What do you have? Thanks.

ESS, Revision, Wiley-X, Oakley, to name a few. Do you want a style you can wear for any outdoor occassion, or are you looking for something that has the shooting range look?

if you liked the Gargoyles that Arnold wore in the Terminator movie... circa 1985??? you could buy these... $59 bucks in the clear safety lens. I went through a few pairs of the 44 Blues from them before I got tired of dropping a couple hundred bucks on shades and then bought $10 Foster Grants from Albertsons lol. Seems I only like obliterating the expensive ones Only on my 2nd pair of those in the last 20 years

I saved up and now use a pair of Oakley Half Jacket Arrays (non-XLJs). It came with a set of gray lenses, amber lenses, and clear lenses. It has a really good, conforming fit on me; if you want less of a cat eye look, go with the XLJs which look almost like hatchets. I was considering a pair of Wiley X Romer 2 Advanced which offered the same setup, but ultimately went Oakley.

The Half Jackets can be prescription lenses according to their website (+2 to -3).

+1 on Half Jackets. Fit great, comfortable, lots of lens options, and top notch Oakley quality. If you really want a unique setup, they can be custom made with different frame/lens combos, icon colors, and etching on the lens.

Oakleys are also impact resistant and meet certain standards. I forget.

dunno about budget, but wiley-x and ESS is what we were issued in the Marines.

I usually shoot in my raybans unless its dark, then i just use winchester ones that i got at walmart for $12.

seriously, when have you been at the shooting range and needed any real impact resistance? im not saying go with thin crappy glass that will shatter into your eye if a shell happens to hit them, but spending more money on range glasses just because they are "dynamic tactical shrapnel resistant kevlar carbon fiber ballistic nylon" seems pointless to me. just about any name brand pair of glasses is acceptable for range use.

and ill tell people all day to get a good pair of polarized sunglasses.

I just use my safety glasses from work. Might want too look into just regular safety glasses. Some are military approved and will cost u like $20.00.
