I haven't been out to the range lately, but was thinking of heading over to Lytle Creek. Their website says they aren't allowing Steel Core ammo now. Has anyone been there recently? Are they enforcing this?

Lytle Creek banned steel core?

I wouldn't shoot steel there anyway unless there was a LOT of snow on the ground.
Have you ever seen steel core hit a rock at dusk? We're not talking some pathetic little spark...Alot isn't a word and allot isn't the word you think it is.
I'd really like a Colt 1903 frame, bad finish okay!
I'm also looking for a good deal on a 1911 frame or two for budget/spare parts builds. -
Well, with the extreme fire hazard there and the 2 fires caused by target shooters in the past, they are probably a little concerned about any more. They voluntarily closed down the 300yrd. range just before the Forest Service came out and asked them to. I was told the FS was impressed with that, so that's a good thing.
If they haven't already done so, they are supposed to be building covers over the area for sun protection. No more Easy Ups necessary. I don't know if they have started yet on them, but I was told it would be soon. Just a fyi.Comment
