I belong to SBR&GC and received their email news letter several weeks ago. About the women on target program. Asked the wife if she would be interested, received an immediate yes! So I signed her up before she could change her mind.
I think it's limited to 20 Ladies per class. They get one on one instruction with .22 cal hand guns and rifles and ammo, provided. $20 cost. First off was safety instruction as a group. Then onto the range with their mentors.
I was very proud of the fact she had never had a rifle too her shoulder, and almost completely obliterated the black dot that was on the paper plate. The pistol, well that was a different story. She only put three on the plate, but I consoled her telling her if that was someone coming in the bedroom door they would be in a world of hurt.
All in all it was a great day at the range.
By the way my wife is 70+yrs. and a great-great grand mother.
