    New AK unvieled. The AK-12.

Looks interesting, hopefully in 10 years we can get them as parts kits. Around the one minute mark there are some close ups of the rifle.

    • Ambidextrous forward charging handle.
    • Smaller ejection port.
    • New safety switch.
    • New fire control switch with three modes of fire (single shot, 3 round burst and full auto).
    • New hinged top cover. The cover is a lot more rigid that the previous AK rifles.
    • Quad picatinny rails.
    • Folding and length adjustable stock.
    • Ergonomic pistol grip (with a decent radius between trigger guard and grip).
    • New muzzle brake that attaches to standard NATO 22mm threading.
    • Improved barrel rifling."

    ugly. i think
"Then there are sheepdogs. The sheepdogs are the bastions of safety. The sheepdog lives solely to protect the flock and confront the wolf. They live for the opportunity to be called to duty to protect the innocent. The sheepdog has fangs and the propensity for violence but hopes that he will not have to resort to it. However, he lives for that day when he will be able to use his warrior skills and mindset to keep the wolf from harming the sheep."

It's new but on that pic it looks OLD and outdated.......

Interesting design though. Only thing I really dislike is the smaller ejection port. I prefer the larger port, always liked that about AK's, the large ejection port allows carbon and crap to vent out and less stays in and builds up.

            Most likely 5.45x39.

              Saw your post and thought : both 7.62s, 7.62 x 39 and 7.62 x54r - cool!

Then saw the diagram: 7.62 x 39 and 7.62 x51. Oops on my part...
