Well what specifically are you looking for

    Technical?
    informational ?
    thought provoking?

By far the Best gun book I have read is Unintended Consequences

+1 for unintended consequences. Its a must read for every gun owner.

For technical manuals, I like the Khunhausen (sp?) manuals

I would also recommend Hatcher's Notebook by Julian Hatcher

                    Clayton Cramer's Armed America

A very good book that covers the truth of early America and guns (both good and bad).

"Armed America: The Remarkable Story of How and Why Guns Became as American as Apple Pie "

"The Great New Orleans Gun Grab", which just came out. Buy it here:

He ships it FAST! Had it in my hand in 3 days.

Gun Control and Gun Rights: A Reader and Guide by David B. Kopel, Brannon Denning, and Andrew McClurg

is a good book with logical discussions.

A good read for handgunners is "Effective Handgun Defense" - A Comprehensive Guide to Concealed Carry - by Frank W. James. Lots of pictures and reviews of revolvers and autoloaders, holsters, etc. Good, sound advice from a seasoned professional.
Another is "Leadership and Training For The Fight" - A few Thoughts on Leadership and Training From a Former Special Operations Soldier - by MSG Paul R. Howe- US Army Retired. An inside look at SpecOps techniques and how they can increase your readiness in a civilian situation. A good read for anybody who's interested in staying alive when TSHTF.
"We're surrounded. That simplifies our problem. We can now fire in any direction and strike the enemy." ....Colonel Lewis Burwell "Chesty" Puller, Commanding the 1st Marine Regiment at The Battle of The Chosin Reservoir, Korea 1950

                          Technical references:

Standard Catalog of Smith & Wesson - Supica and Nahas

This is the essential guide to S&W revolvers and others. A must-have if you've drunk the S&W kool-aid

I'm a big fan of the collections of disassembly books as well. I have several published the NRA, back when they swung that way (and I understand they're re-releasing some of them), as well as by Gun Digest. These are very handy if you're into a variety of guns.

Brownell's Gunsmith Kinks books are amusing and fascinating, though a bit specialized.

I've got several of the Kunhausen books, and while they're very useful and full of arcane knowledge, the organization tends to be terrible, and finding what you want can be a challenge. Still, they're often the ultimate reference for their subjects (if a bit out of date sometimes).

My favorite so far is Boston's Gun Bible.

One good gun book I would recommend is the art of the rifle by jeff cooper. A must read by every rifle shooter.
