If OP didn't join before jukeboxx13 got banned I would swear it was the same guy by the great topics they both post.

They are, if the person who built it knows what they're doing (even if they're drunk at the time).

But, there are some really bad builds out there that will constantly malfunction.

So make sure who built it, before buying it.

I've unjammed an AK with a hammer. I thought thats why the charging handle stuck out so far... Like a kick start on motorcycle. Watch..... your face......

I had something similar happen to one of my SKS rifles and the range officer came by and showed me the "Russian Way" to clear the jam. He made sure we were clear of the rifle and then grabbed the bolt with his right hand and held the forend with his left. Then he slammed the buttstock of rifle onto the cement table as hard as he could and ejected the stuck case.

Pretty cool if you ask me and good to keep in mind in case you ever do have it stuck at the range or whatever.

^that reason is why you don't want cheesy stocks on your weapons... that IS how you are SUPPOSED to clear a malfunction like that.
you don't rise to the occasion,
you just fall back on your level of training.

I've got a better way than slamming the butt on the concrete:

                1. on an active range with a shooting bench remove the magazine from the rifle and place the rifle right side down on the shooting bench with the charging handle behind the edge of the table opposite of the firing line, muzzle pointed down range.

                2. With the shooter's left hand holding the rifle at a slight angle up, and the right hand at the stock behind the receiver give the rifle a hefty shove forward.

                3. The charging handle is hooked behind the edge of the bench; the bolt group stays stationary while the rifle is shoved forward.

                4. The jammed case is extracted.

                5. Examine the chamber and bore to insure nothing has been left behind when clearing the weapon.
