Because glocks are made of plastic, is light weight, and "its lack of external safety", this means it's extremely durable? LOL

Why even read an article when the persons bio says this: "Dara Kerr, a freelance journalist based in the Bay Area, is fascinated by robots, supercomputers and Internet memes"

Sounds way to geeky to own anything but a firearm in World of Warcraft or some other fantasy type game.

How is stating a small handful of facts like this... "journalism"? It's a report I'd expect out of someone in the 7th grade that barely counts as a reasonably basic essay. It's just a ramble of about 15 facts and a couple of generic statements just to promote a book.

It was a joke, sorry. I was writing code when the first apple came out and my wife is a DBA.

High strength polymer, and less parts. Yes, they're very durable because of having far less parts.

Yes, Glocks are durable for all those reasons. Especially without a external safety lever to break making it more durable. What don't you get?

The article on NPR has a good amount of fail as well:
In his book Glock: The Rise of America's Gun, Paul Barrett traces how the sleek, high-capacity Austrian weapon found its way into Hollywood films and rap lyrics, not to mention two-thirds of all U.S. police departments.

There are very detailed articles on the internet about the earth being hollow and that NASA blanks out the gaping 90 mile wide hole to the interior in all photos. And that the aliens from Atlantis live there amongst a giant floating proto sun.

The internet is full of stories.

All these articles are basically re-written from each other. =\

Could have been worse... At least the article didn't claim the Glock was the all plastic pistol that is a favorite of terrorists worldwide since it can't be caught by detectors lol.

I'm not sure what's funny about a pistol that costs more than you make in a month.

Yes, and I might be surprised what stix213 makes in a month.
