"So what if someone attacks me with a giant bamboo log?"

OK, wtf is that at :25 and :45?
Also, why are they being pulled out of chairs? If an attacker was pulling you out of a chair to knock you on your rear(not unreasonable I guess), wouldn't you train to shoot the attacker and not another target in the opposite direction?
wtf?
That's also great at 2:15 how he's keeping cover behind an object while moving, except that object is a cardboard box... It's not like you're going to be flipping around a mailbox, dumpster, or a car with one hand like that.Last edited by Merc1138; 01-23-2012, 11:35 PM. -

But the video is the joke
The idea of training while standing on an unstable platform, ok that makes sense(I know I couldn't do it). But the rest of it...
The people that put these courses together, and then think their promo videos look cool, I really wonder what they're thinking. I'm also waiting for a tactical class that demonstrates how to draw while dancing(****, this video came close) in the event you're doing the electric slide and have to draw and fire in a self defense scenario.Comment

Agreed. I think a better and more realistic video would be tactics for someone on the toilet during an assault. Or best strategies if you've got your hand down your pants Al Bundy style on the couch. "101 cool things you could do with your semi-auto firearm that PROBABLY won't result in shooting yourself or someone you can at least tolerate" would be a good working title..."It's easy to be hungry when you ain't got $h!t to lose..." Can you still wipe and flush, or do you have to wait for the police to collect evidence?

The cardboard box flip is just getting the student used to not only manipulation of objects while firing at a target, but also on changing your position based on changing cover. It goes hand in hand with the bamboo limbo they were doing. Keeping your firearm pointed at a threat while advancing on that threat through, over and around objects.
Most LEO training teaches to wait for backup so you can safely transverse the object / obstacle while back-up provides cover. LEO like Alaska State Troopers, & Canadian Mounties don't have that option. You, as a civilian, would not always have that option either.Comment
