Let's talk COMP/FLASH HIDDERS

After doing a lot of research I bought a FSC556 and I have to say it works ok but the noise it creates is insane!! Forget using in a SHTF situation you would have to have ears on everywhere you go! I hear good things about the Battle Comp but wonder how loud and effective it is. Having a very loud gun is not good for me, I would like to be able to shoot it in SD situation with out having ears on. I have shot my Vortex with no ears and it was not bad at all, the FSC556 made my ears hurt for a week. I know never to shoot with out ears on but in a SHTF situation what are you going to do where your ears for the rest of your life?

well then the phantom isn't for you. it's loud as hell and the shock wave it sends is a real crowd pleasee on blm land and a ***** at the range. it will take care of muzzle rise though, i just never knew how bad it was for those around me till i let someone else shoot my AR.

The BC is as effective if not a tad more so than the FSC. It also has measureable difference in shooter positioned sound waves as well. I run a 1.5 on my BCM 14.5" upper.

Just so you are aware, no comp/mb is going to deaden the sound enough for having no ears.

OP, how about the VLTOR VC-1? it supposed to be both a comp and a flash hider.

I just pinned a Micor 1:7 flash hider on my new build. I love it.

Do they make a Phantam comp? I had a flash hider and sold it.

I don't know much about it but Stag Arms just came out with a new comp. It's called the 3G super comp just for 3 gun shooters. Just one more option to look at.

The flaming pig is said to direct the sound forward, but I wouldn't use it on a 16". I have been told the old XM177 moderators change the pitch of the report and while still loud its tolerable with just a thick watch cap. I have never tried it myself. Also that would make a 16" barrel 21" long...LOL You again have dwell issues to deal with.
