Anyone watch it? I missed it but my gut feeling is it's the same old rehash of gun control.

The clip was just showing the decline of hunters in the state. Billy Gianquinto gave an explanation of what he described as "Bambi Syndrome" It had nothing to do with "Gun Rights" and thankfully nothing to do with our DOJ confiscated, Centerfire-Autoloading Firearms.

It was actually a pretty good segment. The story covered the decline of hunting, especially in California. It showed the typical decreasing numbers when comparing year over year.

The funnier point was the fellow (forgot his name) who called it "Bambi syndrome". His point was that kids these days grow up thinking that animals talk to each other and play hopscotch in the woods and the like, so shooting them is cruel. I suppose the scientific name is "anthropomorphization".

A segment like this wouldn't be complete without interviewing the token Berkeley resident (no offense Scatch ), and this one didn't disappoint. The interviewee thought that hunting was related to violence, no shock, and the usual hippie crap that goes along with it. The story did go on to include that she was invited to a dinner where elk was served and she thought it was tasty and satisfying. It ended with reporter commenting that she went away a little more open minded.

It was a rather fair segment in my mind.

I was able to regurgitate a name. You chunked up the entire episode!

Time for me to hit the dorm, its Friday night and I will be putting band aids
on busted lips in a couple of hours when the bars close.

              Speaking of Bambi

I drive down 280 EARLY every morning so I can make calls back east etc. I notice EVERY single morning at LEAST 3 dead deer on side of the road during summer etc. When rutting is taking place I have seen as many as 6-8 that is just going south. Thankfully I only have hit one years ago in my truck and none so far as I exercise my BMW 12 cylinder I will definitely not have fun.

110-120mph + adult deer impact= a lot of crash fun for whoever is not in the car with me.

too bad they won't let us archers out there on the resevoir to cull the herd a bit. Might save someone's life.

BTW I still hunt every year Bambi tastes great if prepared correctly and it is healthy lean meat. sometimes I want to strap a deer to hood and drive down Geary past the PETA protestors in front of Niemans.

Did they mention that the wildlife/wetlands preservation funds come from hunting license's? And that fewer hunters means fewer license's purchased, means less money for the wildlife/wetlands funds?
I've known daredevils and I ain't got nothing against them.....its just they're all dead.
