    After DROS....

Sorry if this question was answered. I did a search and could not find anything.

After DROS......and after handgun is picked up......does DOJ do an audit on any of the guns? Also, what if there was a mistake on the DROS....will DOJ contact FFL about the mistake or the buyer?

I mean a general audit like looking thru old files and checking up on gun owners, where the gun is located, etc.

They verify that the paperwork is correct.

I.E- Safe/Gun Lock, Thumbprint, Signature etc.

For long guns, I believe the DOJ are required to destroy the paperwork after 10 days. Of course, the FFL is required by the ATF to keep it for 20 years. For hand guns, the CA DOJ keeps the info in their database forever.
