Ammo shipping restrictions

I just tried to order some rifle ammo that was on sale at midwayusa..........

they said it couldn't be sent to me because I was located in a restricted city/state???????????

Anybody encounter this? I haven't heard of any rifle ammo shipping restrictions, besides the proof of age thing.

Yes, Midway and a couple of other dealers will no longer ship any kind of ammunition to my city. Worried about liability issues, they had some lawyers check local laws all over the country to see which places restricted mail order ammo sales. Some local laws are vague and confusing and Midway and the others chose to err on side of caution with certain cities.

I've run into the same problem with both Sportsmans Guide and Ammoman. Both will not ship to Marin county, apparently it's illegal to ship amunition or knives into marin county. Thank you Marin County for your infinite wisdom and continued micro management.
