    Temporary DOJ Weapon Permits?

I've been told by a reputable training company that one can obtain a permit to use what California considers an "Assault Weapon for training classes inside of California.

Does anyone know what this permit is?

Never mind, looks like it's for non-residents only:

30665. Sections 30600, 30605, and 30610 shall not apply to the
possession and importation of an assault weapon or a .50 BMG rifle
into this state by a nonresident if all of the following conditions
    are met:
    (a) The person is attending or going directly to or coming
directly from an organized competitive match or league competition
that involves the use of an assault weapon or a .50 BMG rifle.
    So crappy!

Note carefully there's no exemption for large-capacity magazines for those competitors.

    Not a 'permit' as such.

Frozen in 2015, it is falling out of date and I can no longer edit the content. But much of it is still good!

        Well now that's interesting.

So, it's fairly safe to assume that a lot of people at this particular training class broke the law.

I'd love to see this become a standard practice that eventually is just unenforceable.
