My understanding in CA law would prevent me from acquiring any more arms until I had a DOJ approved storage device and yes Stack-On is approved. I just moved into an apartment, currently have guns less than properly stored and was considering just like to OP to get a stack on temporarily. One reason I like the stack-on in my situation is that I don't want neighbors seeing me bring in a safe. If there are any prying eyes thinking a safe means valuables, I may just have to test out CA Castle laws. Discretion is also a part of safety. Finding the right solution is an individual choice and depends on your situation and finances.
