Well, I live in California, so Red Dawn kind of comes to mind, not the locality of the movie, but because it'll be one of the first landing parties of Chinese. lol

    That or alien invasion.

A Katrina like event here in populated SoCal would not be good. We have way too many gangbanging retards here.

for me, it is either a massive *** earthquake (hey, atleast katrina left most of the underground stuff alone), and a distant second is the Chinese.

Sure, I am in the central valley, but in the case of a earth quake, were do you think every one is going to go for food/shelter?

I concur with a big ***'d earthquake. SoCal would be a war zone with riots (again!). (Thought to self: "although this time there wouldn't be any overtime.")

Second, I think hypothetically speaking, perhaps a dirty bomb going off in the L.A. Area would send thousands upon thousands headed north and east! It would be absolute chaos.

I fear that if one of those two scenarios happened here, that would be the ultimate SHTF scenario. People must have their survival kits (food & water)and guns ready to protect their families.

After Katrina, one saw that the cops were of no help to many citizens. In fact, with some of the New Orleans cops, they actually became part of the problem, specifically, "lawlessness."

I pray that doesn't happen to anybody here or any where in the U.S. ever again.

I agree with Trailerpark. Dirty nuke or real nuke in SF or LA.
Complete breakdown of law and services. Mass movement of people
out of hot zones, with no food or water. Goverments, local, state and Fed
would be overwelmed. Keep enough food, water and ammo to survive.
Have an escape plan, or hunker down in the bunker.

MY SHTF scenario (caution scary) but could happen

I come home the house is dark. The last thing I remember clearly is being at work earlier in the day or was it the day before. Its early in the morning and I am not feeling so good. The house is deathly silent not a sound, creepy... I can't figure out what is going on and I am disorientated for some reason. The room starts spinning I run to the sink and throw up. This weakens me and leaves me feeling vulnerable. I feel like I have been poisoned.

Suddenly a bright light is in my eyes. I can't see and I almost panic. I want to run but I am unable to I stand fascinated and fearful by the sight.

There standing less than 3 feet from me is my wife and she immediately notices the glitter from a stripper is on me and I have lipstick on my collar and smell like Channel No.5 and she wears Burberry Brit

That is about as close as I am likely to come to a SHTF. If an earthquake, zombies etc occur and I live through the initial issue I am very well prepared due to being well armed and I have a sound logistics supply, medium and long term planning and 3 enviroment survival training via the USMC as well as mountain warfare leadership school. etc

                    In Case You are Interested

I have a 2005 Dodge Quad cab 4x4 lifted and fully loaded and ready to receive supplies in case we need to crawl over bad roads, other "lesser" cars and other obstacles (like a pile of Birkenstocks.) A few cans of gas with stabilizer mixed appropriately (I also refresh that stock every 6 months) I do my very best to keep the truck extremely well maintained and try not to park it with less than 3/4s of a tank. A dirtbike and trailer to tow in case we need motorized scouting. I also have a full on massive medical kit that has gear to even do lower level trauma work. Clamp and tie off arteries, treat deep wounds, cuts, stabilize limbs etc. A few medical books and other survival reference material.

Typical camping gear as well as woodcraft type tools like axe, shovel, etc

                    A starbucks gift certificate.

Everything I have is designed to go into the truck if that is impossible or whatever we have figured out what we can carry on our backs if we HAVE to leave.

Our plan is to get out of the area if necessary or hunker down and be as non threatening appearing as possible. We will do everything we can to not look menacing and attract attention. Low Key to me is the answer if no one looks twice at us I will be a happy camper.

I have taught my wife self defense and how to be safe, maintain, load, function and accurately shoot the weapons we have. We are thinking about having kids for an emergency food source Cattle kids so to speak. Sorry just kidding thought it was funny. It kind of is. I do keep extra room in the truck in case I happen to run across 2 or 3 other hot women walking down the road in post disaster sexy torn clothes. I hope they will agree to repopulate the world.

Oh and I have reduced my SHTF logistics load a bit by using only 3 calibers. You may not agree with the calibers but they are my preference. .308 for a M1A SOCOM II and a M1A Super Match that I have turned into a nicely scoped M21 type long range rifle, a 12 Gauge Benelli M4 and and Remington 870, a Glock in 45 ACP and a Wilson Combat 1911. Some gunsmithing tools and maintenance gear. I keep in battle paks about 6K South african 308 ammo and a lesser quantity of match rounds. Close to 800 shotgun shells and a buttload of 45 acp.

Ok lots more to say but I got a tad overzealous and this is a long post. Basically we have plans for staying, leaving via truck and leaving via our ed feet.

                    Respectfully,

                    John

Whenever we talk about SHTF scenario, we always discuss one of five scenarios: Zombies, aliens, robots, commies, and Communist alien zombie robots.

In any case, the plan comes down to gathering supplies and fam and heading for the hills.Literally. Either the closer by semi-countryside hills of Mission Peak or the family property way deep of livermore. Water, weapons, and canned food. Hopefully the gas lasts long enough for us to still use vehicles until we get to where we're going to hole up. If not, some good shoes and clean pairs of socks.

Most realistic one would be massive earthquake. Then it would be much worse that in New Orleans, because New Orleans WERE evacuated. Well.... mostly.....

Here we will have several millions of people without electricity and WATER. God forbid it will happend during summer time..... Add huge amount of street gungs into the mix.....
Whole hell will break loose VERY VERY fast.....

The essence of Western civilization is the Magna Carta, not the Magna Mac. The fact that non-Westerners may bite into the later has no implications for their accepting the former.

EDIT 2020: To be fair that seems to apply to many Westerners also.
