Looking for low recoil .308 ammo

I have an old Spanish Mauser rifle which was the first rifle I ever bought (it's why my account name is "oldrifle") that I'm fixing up to give to my dad. It's chambered in .308, though it was originally intended to fire the 7.62 NATO or CETME round. Because the 7.62 NATO round is 40,000 CUP pressure and commercial .308W is 52,000 CUP a lot of people say it's not safe to shoot commercial ammo through this rifle. I've shot a few boxes of commercial loads through it myself without a problem but I'd like to give my dad a few boxes of lighter load stuff that's more along the lines of the pressures of the 7.62 NATO because I'd feel more comfortable with him shooting those. I've been looking at commercial reduced recoil .308 products online but it seems nobody carries them anymore or they've all be discontinued. Does anybody know where I can find something like the Remington Managed Recoil round?

On second thought, this post might be more appropriate for the C&R forum...

There WAS a lower-loaded 308 round loaded by the Spanish for one of their military rifles in the 60s if I remember right, but I think most 308 is loaded to "normal" pressures. Maybe a custom reloader can help you.

Why don't you just use your dad just use the 7.62 NATO ammo and be done with it?

My understanding is that modern 7.62 NATO pressures are too high for this rifle. I think I'm just going to reload some .308 brass to the .300 Savage specs.
