Please Help to UN confuse me

First off,I would just like to say hello to all the members of the forum.

I have spent the last few days going through quite a few of the posts and i've

learned quite a bit from what i have seen.

Here is my question, Lets say i see a used gun on one of the auction sites like gun broker etc etc that i'm interested in like a s&w model 10-4,and the seller is not in california, can i purchase this or any other used firearm from a out of state private party or gun shop.

I checked out the DOJ site and the roster but it seems like it is for new gun purchases but i'm not sure.

    Thanks in advance.

Nope, as he said it has to be on the list for the exact model. Here is the site to check for the listed guns: http://certguns.doj.ca.gov/

You can however purchase one if you found someone local to PPT it.

Unless it's C&R, it has to go from out of state [private party or FFL] to California FFL to California buyer. Those auction boards sometimes have an 'FFL Finder' so you can arrange to have the handgun shipped to an FFL near you. And that's why the handgun has to be on the Roster.
