This is HXP 1980 fired from my m1. I left it for a week an discovered this stuff. Is it salt?

That's copper residue from the bullet jackets -
Rinse very well with hot water after you shoot surplus ammo.Comment

Also possible that your ammo is corrosive. Hot water down the bore and then clean like normal.Comment
