looking at a noveske afgan SS 14.5 inch barrel. has about 1500 rounds through it. is that alot for this this particular barrel, or is there still alot of life left in it?

1,500 rounds is not much at all. I believe some people shoot more than that at a weekend carbine course.

As soon as you reach the 1,500 mark I will take it off your hands.

1500 rounds would be equivalent to 15,000 miles on a new Toyota. It should easily last 20x that in a normal life.
If it's a varmint rifle or tack driver, expect accuracy to decrease over time, but if you're slinging lead at zombies, it will still be perfectly functional for your needs at that point.

The only time a barrel is going to last less than 5,000 rounds, is some cabliers for some precision barrels that start to shoot "bad" groups(still sub moa) after a couple thousand rounds, and 5.56/.223 isn't one of those.Comment

add a ZERO and that's less than what I have through a DPMS barrel that cost me $130 new... your noveske sure as heck better be able to handle more than that
