    Ruger no longer list Mini 6.8?

    Hmm. Well that didn't last long.

    Guess 6.8 isn't selling...

    no big surprise to me..... the only reason the mini-14 did so well was cheap ammo... you then take the same gun and make ammo 20 bucks a box and i can see why no one wants it...

      In my opinion, there hasn't been any need for a new cartridge in the last 50 years (let's assume 5.56x45 is 50 years old).
      RIP Louis Awerbuck. I miss you and your training.

        If Ruger was smart they would cracking on the the XGI (slightly larger Mini that shoots .308 Winchester), figure out the production issues and bring it to market. They would clean up vs. M1A and AR-10.

          If they could sell it for <$800 I think they'd have a winner.

          Of course, the only mags you could buy would be 5 or 20 rounders or 10 round ProMags that don't work...

            That's like saying; I like this AR10 so much... If only they could scale it down and make a 5.56 version.

              It's called a Mini 30.

                ^^^

                .308= 7.62X51

                NOT 7.62x39

                    I always heard that the Mini14 name was implying that it was like a smaller M14. I gather that's the gist of your post?
