Cali move in got a few questions

How everyone I'm from Arizona joined the Navy and now I live in the San Diego area. Going from my ccw permit free, gun friendly state to California that is slightly less so I have a few questions.

1. Mags. I have Glock and AR mags. If I modify the mags I have to 10 rounds is that good or do I have to buy all new ones? If I modify does the change have to be permeant?

2. Stocks. I'm building an AR and have completed lower with a collapsible stock. I heard that was not good and need a fix stock. Is that true?

3. Ranges. I've looked online and found a few indoor handgun ranges but no real rifle ranges. Where are the good outdoor rifle ranges in (or east of) SD that won't break the bank. Preferably free.

First,

Yes you need to disassemble your higher then 10 round magazines and either keep them for when you leave the state in parts or block them down to only holding 10 rounds. There is so much debate on what is permanent I suggest you just do a google search on "permanent blocking on magazines calguns.net"

2. You can have a collapsible stock as long as the overall length of the firearm is 30" in its shortest position (total firearm including upper, receiver and stock).

San Diego has ton of ranges that allow rifle...

also you can check out P2K which is in el cajon, american shooting center which is in kearny (52/805 junction) and I've been hearing that Discount Gun Mart off Morena is opening their rifle range (off the 5)

Ironsights in oceanside is nice but it will be far from you. Same goes with ranges like Pala.

Depending where you are those are probably the 3 closes to you. Do a quick search and I'm sure you can find some SD calgunners who shoot out doors on BLM land, but in terms of paid indoor/outdoor ranges, those are it.

^^^ What he said. Also if you are active duty check with the MAA (at the range not at Pass and Decal) as I do know that North Island had open shoot on Wednesdays. I used to go at lunch time when I worked on the island. Make sure and check with them first as you do have to go through some hoops to bring your personal weapons on base.
