    Almost had a Nighthawk Predator

Found just what I was looking for online. It was perfect.

Called the store and started the payment and shipping paperwork. Just before ending the call, I had the thought to make sure it was a California compliant model, and it was.

I said that I could not believe that I found a new Predator in all black just like I was looking for.

The sales manager said "It isn't black, it's black over gray".

Oh my God. The web picture shows all black but she said that they don't have time to change the pictures when new guns come in.

She sent me a picture of the black slide and gray frame and I just couldn't do it. For me, it was quite possibly the ugliest 1911 I have ever seen. That is probably why they still had it. She said everyone wants all black and they go quickly.

    Back to the search.

Actually, with the black grips the Supergrade does look nice. This one has some wooden grips in red. Initial impression was yuck, but seeing it with other grips tells me I may have to reconsider. I am going to try to attach a pic so you can see what I mean. Just has too many colors the way it is.

The grips on a 1911 should be the least of your concerns. I don't think any of my 1911's have their original grips on them That bi-tone is not bad looking at all. I say go for it.

Thought about it for a few minutes but I am going to stick to looking for exactly what I want. This is too much money to settle. Even if I have to order it and wait a year. When it comes, it will be perfect (for me).

The bi-tone Supergrade does look nice though.

If I don't find one either online or used by Feb 1, I will be ordering a new one.

Thanks Jesse. I looked at the site and it is pretty bare. The hunt goes on.
