    question about the online tax...

I know now that you have to pay tax on firearms you buy online. But what if the place you buy it from is in California? Does that mean I have to pay double tax?

btw I was looking at some of Yzernie's offerings!

The FFL you're picking it up at shouldn't, since you'd be paying it at the place you're buying from at the time of purchase. If you're talking about a gun bought from a dealer that is.

One pays EITHER California SALES Tax at the time of purchase OR California USE tax on out-of-state purchases; the Board of Equalization, the tax collector, is compelling FFLs to be their use tax collection agents.

Frozen in 2015, it is falling out of date and I can no longer edit the content. But much of it is still good!

Ernie charges the tax and prominently notifies the receiving FFL 'CA SALES TAX PAID"
