Can anyone tell me what the #$&! is the matter with these guys? Why are these guys such rude unfriendly jerks? Seriously. Dan Kash, the owner, and most of the guys that work at LAX range are some of the most un-friendly gun range employees I have ever come across. I know they have a lot of responsibility running a range etc...but that's no reason to consistently treat customers like crap. Like teenagers with jobs they can't stand. They act like they don't need the business. I'm a female and I work in law enforcement. I've consistently seen them treat BOTH guys and girls in the same despondent manner. Can anyone tell me why these guys have such attidude?

Just generally unfriendly. Like teenagers with summer jobs they can't stand. Could care less about their customers or life for that matter. Extremely despondent.Last edited by GlocksNBagels; 11-20-2007, 10:52 AM.Comment

Used to go to LAX all the time up until about 3 years ago before I moved. Back then, the younger guys behind the counter acted like fast-food restaurant employees. they seemed despondent for no reason and indignant over nothing. Sometimes they appeared 'out-of-it' - if you told me their incoherency or complacency was from being stoned I would've beleived you. I got the impression they hated their jobs and had a disdain for most all people, including the shooting enthusiasts, not just the goofy/giggly one-time visitors or gang-banger troublemakers. I never had any trouble with them and they never bothered with me. I never broke a single range rule and never gave them reason to police me. They were never jerks but never cordial either. It was fine by me. I went in, they got what I needed if I asked, I shot on the range, paid, went home. 'What kind of targets do you want? What kind of ammo?' / 'See ya next time' was the most conversation I ever got out of 'em and guess that's all that mattered.Last edited by Sam Hainn; 11-20-2007, 5:14 AM."No throwing live ammunition into bonfires on runs."Comment

You have 17 posts total and 2 of the threads you've started are bashing LAX Range.
I've been a member there for a while. I don't get attitude from them. They're actually pretty friendly and definitely helpful. More than a few times they've gone out of their way to order or find something I needed.
When it's busy they're not looking to idly chit-chat about your favorite shooting position or whether .40 is better than 9mm. However, I've had numerous conversations with nearly everyone there when things are slow, and they've always been really nice.
They're also OLL friendly and have pretty good ammo prices, especially for a range.

Yea, the guys there can be a little off on some days... but generally they'll help you out and are pretty cool.Originally posted by KestryllThe volume of blood necessary to achieve erection would cause you to either pass out or if you didn't and managed to maintain an erection you would likely die from lack of oxygen to the heart and brain.Originally posted by ivanimalJust be glad you are not his next door neighbor. I could care less about the mood or demeanor of the range employees as long as they strictly enforce the range rules and keep the environment as safe as they can. My girlfriend and I used to go there every friday night for about a year and a half. The old asian guy was never very friendly but he kept that range in line. Then one friday we went in, he was gone and there were two new younger guys in his place. There was a bunch of "gang-banger wannabes" in there sweeping people on the line, rapid firing one gun in each hand, and exhibiting all sorts of poor behavior, while the range guys didn't do squat. We packed up and left and haven't been back since (this was probably 1-2 yrs ago). Maybe that one day was an anomaly, but all it takes is one bad experience to drive customers away.
For those who still shoot there, I would be interested in hearing if the exerience was truly an anomaly.

I have no real complaints about the staff in terms of attitude-- could one or two of the guys be a bit more friendly-- absolutely but really all I need from them is a lane so I don't care one way or another.
As far as range safety -- on weekends that the place scares the crap out of me to the point that I refuse to go on weekends. I usually just go during my lunch hour during the week when the place is empty.Comment

Unfortunately, this is what it's like to shoot at LAX range. Yes, there are still gang-bangers in there ALL the time sweeping people on the line and yes they act like bufoons (shooting one handed gangster style, rapid firing etc...). Weekends are absolutely the worst; way too crowded without enough supervision. The other disturbing thing about this range is the poor ventilation system. Many who leave LAX range complain of sore throats from the smoke that hangs in the air. The symptoms of lead poisoning that a previous post describes seems right on par with how these guys are behaving.I could care less about the mood or demeanor of the range employees as long as they strictly enforce the range rules and keep the environment as safe as they can. I'm getting the sense uclaplinker either works for or has friends who work at LAX range so I disregard his posts as nothing more than advertising for the range. Both of his posts in defense of LAX range have contained false information. Ammo prices are NOT cheap at LAX range. Their ammo prices recently went up.
From a previous post:
"Thanks for the info. uclaplinker. Now let's sort out some "half truths" you mentioned. You wrote, "I do really like the fact that a single rental price covers anything you want to try.". Not true. Sure, the LAX rental price covers SOME guns within a price range you may want to use while renting, but NOT all. If you have an ANNUAL PASS at the Firing Line ALL rentals are free of charge and you are not charged a fee for supporting local businesses and buying THEIR ammo. And no, Walmart prices for WWB are cheaper, even by the case. Depends which Walmarts you shop...."
oh and by the way,
uclaplinker and ohsmiley are the same people.Last edited by GlocksNBagels; 11-20-2007, 8:49 PM.Comment
