Have gun stores always been this crowded?

When I went to buy my first gun it seemed pretty packed where I went(MB Rettings). When I came back yesterday to pick it up it was even more crowded.

Then at Turners there was a good number of people checking out guns and buying ammo.

Is it just the holiday season still or does it seem like gun stores are getting busier and busier? I don't know since this is my first time really shopping in them.

Ever since the current administration began to approach the halls of power, this phenomenon has grown and just gets crazier during Christmas.

Our current POTUS is the greatest firearms and firearms-related-gear salesman on the planet.

I try to give credit where credit is due.

But we do need to kick him out before he packs the SCOTUS with more 2nd Amendment haters.

Yeah I've been looking into stockpiling some ammo.

        You know, just in case.

Wow didn't see this article until after I made this post:

With a few days left in December, the FBI reports the number of background checks has already topped the previous one-month record -- set only in November -- of 1,534,414 inquiries by gun dealers to the National Instant Criminal Background Check System also known as NICS. Almost half a million checks were done in just the last six days before Christmas.

I was at Oak Tree Gun Club a couple of days before Christmas. While I was standing there, they sold 7 handguns and had one pick up. This was all within a half a hour!!

It's been crazy there all year. Any time I was up there and wandered in the shop there were people all over the place.

                It's awesome.

There are a lot of reasons people buy guns. Some could be afraid of future bans under an Obama 2nd term. Some figure "2012", why take chances? Zombies. Economic "tuff times" and a fear of rising crime. Domestic terrorism and/or backlash tyrrany against domestic terrorism. "Occupy" this & that, fear of riots. Economic and political turbulence, and possible civil unrest. There's just something in the air. Even the hacker group Anonymous recently released a "survival guide to revolution". They didn't say beans about guns, but it's not hard to read between the lines and get the idea that one might come in handy. Everyone is feeling a little nervous these days. And nothing says "Don't worry, I've got this" like a gun and ammo on hand.

It's not just you... Black Friday this year was a record-setter and December 2011 looks to be the biggest gun-selling month on record. I did my bit... scored a new Kel-Tec Sub-2000 this month. An Appleseed rifle class I attended was booked solid the weekend prior to Christmas when most folks are trolling the mall. The collective consciousness is antsy, and has decided that arming up is one way to feel a little better about things. Hopefully, that is a good thing.

People have become more interested in guns around San Jose since the SJPD said they will no longer respond to home and business alarm systems. Seems to be no point in paying for an alarm system anymore...

Already started planning ahead, really regardless of how takes over office (which I'd really hate to see Obama with a 2nd term).

I'm currently getting reloading components and stock piling up on bullets and other parts needed. I'm also getting into the 80% builds now (first made made me addicted) so I'm going to have fun with some more AR, some AK, and even H&K builds. Soon enough we'll be doing some 1911 builds too .

Here is a link to a chart showing NICS figures from 1998-Nov 2011.

If you figure in the month of December, 2011 will beat 2010 by at least a million and a half and last year was the biggest since 1998.

Total NICS checks done between 1998 and Nov 2011 is...........drum roll please........

                            Lots of Fear at play.

I only say that as the conversations I overhear at the local gun stores these days.

Less talk about accuracy at the range or if a gun will take down a buck... More "Will this stop a crazy gang banger or meth head?"

Everytime a COD player turns 21, a gun is sold.
