B&S Ammo.. Red paint on the primer..

Sorry if this was asked before... Is that red stuff bad for strikers/firing pins? Can I remove it from the shell prior to firing it? (gun blaster or something else)?

Just wondering... I clean my guns after every other range trip so I don't keep em gunked up but was wondering about the red paint...

    Thanks,

that is a sealer so primer stays dry in case of moisture.

That red primer seal causes no harm. It will just leave some red on your bolt face that cleans of easy. No big deal. If you spray something on your ammo to try to remove it, then you risk killing the primer if the chemical penetrates the primer pocket.

        Title says B&S, lol.

It's fine, just wipe it off when you're done. Most military ammo also comes like this since it protects the powder.
