    glock usa vs austria

there seems to be a debate between the two. why and what is the difference aside from markings and where its made?

the G usa has lower price than the G austria.

    finish ?
    material ?

i'd like to think their both glocks. then why is there so much fuss?

    thanks.

I thought all GLOCK pistols were starter in Austria and then assembled here.

If I recall correctly, it only applies to newer US-made Glocks, and it has to do with the new finish/metal surface treatment. Apparently, the way Tennifer is applied produces cyanide, which isn't allowed in the US. The finish itself is fine, the way it's applied isn't. It's allowed in Austria though, so it's still used on the Austrian-made Glocks (not sure if we still get those), or on the older Glocks.

I have an "Austrian" G19 and a regular G17 and the only differences I see are the frame stamp and the proof marks.

          G17 - Regular

          G19 - "Austrian"

Parts made in Austria, imported for no duty, assembled in USA, hence the price is lower. Expect to pay a premium for one assembled in Osterreich. Other then finish...trust me on this: your target won't feel a difference.
