I purchased a Shotlock shotgun security device for an 870. I'm wondering what the best way to mount it to a wall would be.
The Shotlock features a grid of mounting holes which can be used to bolt it into the wall studs. There are many holes available but the Shotlock is too small to reach from one stud to another 16" away. I'm concerned that bolting it into a single stud would make it susceptible to prying.
My question for those of you with experience with such things is, how did you attach the Shotlock in your home/office/closet/etc.? Did you add a piece of wood between the studs? Did you just bolt it into a single stud? Any other ideas?
