    Help me choose

I now have a Glock 17 9mm, a Beretta px4 storm .40, A Sig pro 2022 .40 and a GSG 1911 .22. I want to add a .45 and a full size 1911 to my collection and was wondering which of the following guns would be the better value
    S&W M&P 45 (w/thumb safety) 449.00
    RIA GI M1911 .45 399.98

Value is in the eye of the beholder. Both guns for the price are a good value. But I am curious why you'd want a manual safety on a DAO striker fired gun?

Not really something I was looking for but that's how the 449.00 one comes.

Well, grab the RIA and wait for the M&P that you want without the manual safety.

I vote for the RIA 1911, only because I have one and like it. Reliable, well made, and a very good value for the money.

WooHoo, Got my gift cards in hand and ready to make my decision, hoping to make it today but depending on work I may have to wait until tomorrow and I'm still not sure which one I'm getting!

You can't really beat that price point for the RIA it's not a bad deal. I payed $649 for my kimber not inclduing tax and stuff. The closest SA was the G.I. and it was 619 so....I do like the M&P but if you can save $100 bucks /shrug go for it imo.

You get what you pay for.

Personally, if you are not tied to the M&P take a long look at the Glock-21. I don't have the 21 (Ruger P90 and my 1911 in a Kimber Pro Carry) but if I was looking for something in your price range, I would be looking at the G21.
