Open carrying my NERF gun

Do you guys see any potential issues with me OCing my NERF blaster?

I want to go evil and paint it black and etch "SALLY" on the side.

I know that we can't even OC unloaded handguns (lol) here in CA, but i want to know if I would get hassled for a NERF gun.

Edit: SALLY does not have a detachable mag and only hold 10 rounds. I think i am safe.

Any suggestions/insight would be most appreciated.

If I recall California passed a new law that requires toys have an orange barrel so they aren't confused with real firearms. If you painted it black, you'd be violation of that nanny law.

Then i will have to make sure SALLY is CA compliant. no detachable mag or anything. holds only 10 rounds.

I reckon the OP is kidding, but at the risk of stating the obvious, if you open carry something that looks like weapon, you can and will attract attention and eventually a law enforcement response. Act threatening and "draw" on the cops and things will go very badly.

If we can get enough folks to do this, though, we could probably succeed in getting Nerf guns banned. Wouldn't that be great? I'm still a bit grumpy about those OCers who provoked the OC ban by - idiotically - insisting on OCing at Starbucks. I know, blah blah, 2nd Amendment rights blah blah - but now it's illegal, and for no gain at all.

and no i am not going to OC my NERF gun out of protest or anything. Since my completely unloaded thus harmless to anyone open carry gun is no longer allowed to be carried completely unloaded, i need something to ward off the thugs.

(b) Violation of this section, except as provided in subdivision

I think #13 of 12556 covers nerf guns.

(13) A device where the entire exterior surface of the device is
white, bright red, bright orange, bright yellow, bright green, bright
blue, bright pink, or bright purple, either singly or as the

where the entire device is constructed of transparent or translucent
materials which permits unmistakable observation of the device's
complete contents. Merely having an orange tip as provided in federal
law and regulations does not satisfy this requirement. The entire
surface must be colored or transparent or translucent.

Don't call my right silly. Because of this crap, i can no longer open carry an unloaded gun for self defense purposes.
