    marlin 336a ballard rifling

My question is this will Ballard rifling fire jacketed bullets such as Winchester
Silver Tip or Remington core-lokt as well as micro-groove. I have my eye on one made in 1949 that is 95% perfect and original not drilled and tapped.
    Thanks

Yes, the Ballard rifling will shoot jacketed bullets just fine. The rifling in my 1948 336A looks just like the rifling in pre '64 Model 70, and just about all of my other non Micro Groove Marlin or 5R barreled rifles.

Buy that rifle, you will not regret it.

I`ve always been partial to Marlin lever guns but never had a 1949 production.
All the other 336`s have been great dear guns.
Thanks for the info. I will buy this rifle. $275 is a great price.
