    Near Future MILSURP probability?

With troops being called in from the war and all, what kinds of surplus firearms/ammunition do you anticipate becoming readily available in the near future? I'm just curious, and I am not up on what everyone is using in the service nowdays. Also, future ammo availability might affect the caliber I would choose for an AR.

newp. government will sell to other countries before selling to our own. Plus the M16/M4 are class 3 weapons so I wouldnt hold your breath on getting a surplus one.

The probability is not zero, but it isn't far from there. I'd say the chances of legally buying a recent US milsurp is about the same as literally picking one up off the street during a chinese invasion. If we can repeal a bunch of DoD regs, GCA 68 and NFA 34 then we might have a shot. Easy.

Absolutely none. Current regs require the demilitarization of all weapons parts and weapons declared unservicable. Anything else goes into depot storage for eventual reissue, loan to law enforcement, or military assistance to foreign nations.

We can't even get C&R M1 Garands or M1 Carbines imported that have been sitting in Korean warehouses for decades thanks to the "O" administration. The chance for this is another "O" = zero.

How about ammo - what do you see happening to ammo prices in the near future?

Ammo prices will stay the same, I'm afraid the days of buying a brick of 22lr for 8 bucks is gone.

Honest question, was importing M1s from Korea legal back in the Bush administration? Is this why the prices of M1s so high is because the supply is so low?

From what I have told, korea wanted to turn in the M1's and garands by the time Obama was in office, we sorta gifted the garands and m1's to them and they decided hey, we will give them back... but by that time Obama was in office and said "we dont need them"
