My reccomendation from someone who once had a debate on the topic is to never ONCE mention the second amendment. Stay as far away from it as you can. The opposing side will have plenty of ammo for that, but when you don't mention it once it will htrow them into a tizzy, as that is what they think will be your strongest arguement.

Note the magic word, eligible. Our friend the 2nd A itself with it's use of clever commas by our forefathers defines the militia as being the *people*, not "the military" (sic). I am eligible, I am people - I *am* part of the Militia (and proud of it dammit) should it ever be called into service. (haven't these anti people ever seen Red Dawn?! WOLVERINES motherf^#*@#^)
