Need Some Old Gun Help (Lorcin?)

So I'm visiting my out of state family for the holidays, and I've been staying with my dad for the last week. We got to going through the veritable arsenal he has scattered throughout the house in closets, bedside tables, and under a pillow. He complained to me about one of his .380s jamming constantly. Having a bit more firearm technical experience than he does (despite his small arsenal) I offered to take a look at it.

    I'm stumped

The weapon in question is an old Lorcin .380 auto. The slide says it's a model L380. It's probably older than I am (in fact, I know it is), and it's filthier than an old mans mind at a Hooters. The reason it's so dirty is that he's never been able to disassemble it to clean. And for the life of me I can't figure it out either. There's no take down buttons or levers or pins or anything that I can find, and if you unscrew the grips it's just solid underneath. Anyone have one of these, or had one in the past? Any light you could shed on the weapon would be helpful. Thanks!

Make sure there are no rounds in the chamber, take the magazine out and take the gun off safe. Then grab something like a pen, small and blunt ( i recomend a click pen). Behing the slide there will be a small circlular area that is not a part of the slide with a small silver pin in the center of it. using the pen push the circular area but not the silver pin (it should go in about 1/8 of an inch). After this lift up on the back of the slide (keeping the release (circular area) depressed with the pen) and start to pull the slide backwards off the barrel. The silver pin should disappear at some point. At that point you can hold on to the release with your finger and keep pulling the slide up and back until it comes away from the barrel.

It will jam anyway. Lots of FTF especially with hollowpoints. I kind of like mine, but I sure don't want to have to need it....

Well, I can't imagine the two decades worth of grime and build up is doing anything positive for its performance, so I'd at least like to give it a good cleaning. I haven't shot it yet, but it just looks and feels like a cheap gun...

The reason it jams is to protect the owner from the Kaboom that could result from firing that POS.

The only place for that gun is a Police Buy-Back or maybe a bout with a Hacksaw.

I'll break the news to him gently, because he actually likes this stupid gun

In other news, I found a model 1912 in a closet that's closing in on 100 years old. I ran the serial number, and the production year shows as 1919. Pretty damn good shape too. It's friggin' cool
