After polishing, semi chrome will offer some protection I'd used periodically. Doo eetsigpic

The barrel may rust; the receiver won't (aluminum).../Chris

Well i absolutely suck at taking pics. The receiver is stainless steel not alluminum. The barrels at the hinge and extractor were raw steel and they never rusted so it leads me to believe the gun is a stainless steel even though its slightly magnetic so are my other stainless steel barrels. Gun was out in the elements when hunting sometimes in the rain/fog/mist/wet etc Either way from what i read the old blueing has to be polished off so when I finally sell it the new owner can either oil it once in a while or have it blued. Either way some 2000 grit soaked on oil will take care of a rust spot. but nothign has ever rusted on the gun and ive had it for 5-6 years and used it for hunting
The receiver was never blued it was always raw steel and had a bead blasted look. For my first time polishing anything I think it looks pretty good.
I can sell it as a bling range gun.

Ah, my mistake, I presumed it was one of the 500 series with the aluminum receiver./Chris
