How do trades work? 10 day wait?

Searched (badly) and did not see an answer, sorry folks.

So, if you trade do you by pass the 10 day and DROS? Seems to good to be true.

Also, does it the trade have to be gun for gun?

    Thanks

Trade, sale, whatever you want to call it, it's a transfer. All transfers of firearms (except long guns over 50 years old) have to be conducted though an FFL, with a 4473, DROS and a 10-day wait.

The terms of the transaction are between you and the counterparty.

No, all transfers must go through an FFL unless the firearm is Curio & Relic

That's between you and the other guy. If you wish, one can trade their teddy bear collection for a firearm.

      Thanks

What they said. A trade is a transfer and unless it is a C&R long gun, it must go through an 01FFL.

Thanks. A "WTT" post had me confused. Seemed like they were just looking for a hand off in a p-lot.

I sensed a disturbance in the force.
          Order is restored.

          Carry on.

I've done a few firearms swaps/trades. You both go to an FFL, and you Private Party Transfer the firearms to each other. There is a set of paperwork for both transactions. The way I do it is, I pay my own fees, and the other guy pays his.
