    Rifle transfer question...

    Hi All,

I have someone trying to trade me stuff for a rifle (Mini30) I want. Question is, person "A" that wants to trade me lives on the Cali/Neveda border and got this rifle from a friend "B" in Nevada. He says in Nevada you are not required to transfer long guns like we do here in Cali. But the rifle was originally biught in Cali and is registered to friend "B" when he lived here. Will I have to get friend "B" involved to do a legal transfer to me at a FFL store or can I deal directly with person "A"?

    Thanks!

Rifles are not registered in California. No, he can ship or ppt at your local FFL.

The person who currently legally owns the rifle can sell it to you and transfer thru yor ffl. Long guns are not registered to their owner like a handgun is in Ca.

I'm guessing it will have to be friend "B" then because he is the one that bought it from the FFL when he lived in Cali. After friend "B" moved to Nevada he sold it to person "A" straight across without any paperwork done. Now person "A" is who I am dealing with in a trade.

Person "A" currently owns the rifle and he is the one you should deal with. Friend "B" has no interest in the deal. Like others have said, the rifle is not registered, period.
