    Gun show questions...

Hey all, I just saw on here that a gun show is coming to Roseville next week and I wanted to check it out (not for anything in particular, just something to do - I've never been).

Can I bring my kids, or is there an age restriction?

If I can bring my kids, are the entry fees different than an adult ($10 right?)?

I tried looking around online, but couldn't find the answer.... Thanks guys!

No age restrictions. The prices are the same for kids - IIRC . If this is a Code of The West show you can probably find a $1off coupon online. Enjoy!

ETA: The NRA may be there and if you're not already a member, if you join that day they'll usually pay your entrance fee.

I can't say what prices are for admission our local shows usually charge 1/4 price for kids. I take my kids to shows never an issue, just make sure they are far away from Bill W when he gets fired up. I kid I kid. Just make sure you tell them not to touch unless you tell them it is ok. Last time I took mine some neat old guy was showing my boys how to break down a M1 Garand.

If you bring your kids I'd suggest eating prior. Gun show prices are basically fair prices, so you can usually save on the $9 cheeseburgers by eating prior.

When I read this I was all until I realized that by "fair" you probably meant "carnival" and not "market rate".

Haha. Yes, like the state fair. Or the clown at the fair was not very fair.

Gun show fare is priced similarly to fair fare. Unfairly.

Bring them!!! I loved going to the shows when I was younger. Of course the guns were cool, but I look back fondly @ those times because it was my old man and me enjoying what has become one of our hobbies.

It’s also a great way for your kids to learn about everything that is out there and learn by asking questions about “this” or “that”.

It also gets them used to seeing and being around guns!

Most shows have a discounted/free rate for children under 12 and most shows have have coupons for $1 off online or in the paper.
( I tried to look up code of the west and I didn’t see any online but the paper might have a coupon).

That and they can always help you carry all the stuff you buy!

I think the important things to remember are:
                  1) Food (eat before, maybe bring a snack bar for the kids)
                  2) Make sure to remind them to ask permission before touching, some dealers are pretty stern about this, regardless if you’re a youngster or an oldster
                  3) Have fun!
                  4) Back pack
