Negolien's boresight damage W/Pics

1st rule when using a slide in laser bore sighter is what? anyone? anyone? Ya well lol.. I guess the story tells itself don't it. Thought it was just a wierd jam so dropped the mag and cleared the jammed round. Cycled fine so I though hum /shug whatever....Just as I was about to reload it up and let loose I though maybe I should break it down and check the barrel to make sure it's clear. I' am not a fan of looking down the muzzle at the range empty or not lol. Sooooooo... I don't have a camera till wed but the Compensator is blocked.. so's the end of the barrel even after breaking the Comp down so seems the slug wedged itself at the end of the barrel and the compensator by my own stupidity.....Looks like I probably just found an excuse to replace my barrel now how do I know if anything else is damaged in the reciever looks ok but ??0?

As a positive note.. At least I didn't let loose a round with it like that the RO wouda probably been picking up pieces of my face still. Scary really I' am still a little freaked and seriously embarrased by my lack of attention I did save the pieces of my $180 grenade I mean bore sighter....I think somehwere...

That's affirmative Sir....I'll take pics when I get my powershot wed or thursday. So I took off the compensator and tried tapping out what was in there no joy so [I] didn't even bother with the barrel end. I assume it's welded in there lol. I swear to HaShem if I had no bad luck I would have non at all...

AR 5.56 Olympic upper.. Amzing the barrel didn't rupture I think what I' am seeing is the metal rod of the bore sight. I think The rounds behind it. I also didn't see an empty in front of the jammed round which I also saved and will take pictures of. There's some damage to the round making me think some of it blew out the chamber /shrug. The top end of the bore sighter although badly beaten is intact until the probe....I found it about 15 yards down range.

I do.... that weapons been the devil since I got that PoC lol. I kid you not it's been one thing after another from mechanical to the absurd to the neglagent....

1st was the FCG that was bad when i got it but couldn't tell till I took her out. And no it wasn't a spring blah blah blah...SD3G works flawlessley though as a replacment.

2nd was when I had her on a bipod scoped leaning over to the left to look thru spotting scope. Being an AR Nub I didn't realize it would highside on a 30 round magpul lol :<(... rolled right off the table unloaded and breech open thankfully. Landed on bipod thought was gtg..seems the optics took a hit and were jacked afterthat so purchased a nikon buckmaster which I was sighting in when this happened. I been running an Eotech XPS2 without issue.

3 Even during this whole time I have had issues dialing in both scopes for some reason though the guy I got the weapon from put the Low Pro block on maybe he jacked something up /shrug. Though the Eotech is spot on least to 100yards.

No doubt this was neglagence but if my story can help someone avoid a possibly fatal lack of attention so be it :<)....Just sucks now I have to deal with the financial fallout while still being gratefull I got hands and a head.

Whoa, sounds like you had a kB! with your AR with a bore sighter as a squib load (barrel/bore obstruction). Be thankful that you aren't injured, whatever damage that happened, time will fix. You can always save up to buy another AR, you can't say the same for if you took an eye out or blew off a finger or two.

Yup amazes me there wasn't some kind of catastrophic failure. Like I said My Powershot comes on wed so pictures will be coming. I have the two top pieces of the bore sighter it's the 100+ Green laser metal laserlyte bore sighter .. I have the round that was jammed and has scarring on both sides. I also have the Comp off and it's plugged along with the end of the barrel it goes on which is also blocked. The wierdest thing is the fact there was no empty caseing in front of the jammed round making me think it disintegrated causing the scaring on the following round.

I' am grateful honest just a downer as like everyone moneys tight and this is my only hobby. Well was goona be never really got off the ground so to speak LOL. I do still have my Custom II maybe I'll just do some action shooting /shrug. so bummed honestly doesn't make me want to shoot.
