    CA Compliant AR

Need to make my AR's CA compliant for my upcoming move to Los Gatos

Can I just take the 30 and 40 round mags apart and be good? I already have a Stoner 10 round Magazine I used at the range for bench shooting.

What else do I need to fix/change?

Can this be done after moving if I disassemble the gun or does it need done before moving? Also any good CA compliance parts and links would be helpful

SolarTactical helped with everything I needed for my AK's

Disassembling the mags over 10 rounds is a start. If the AR is not listed, then check for evil features: pistol grip, forward pistol grip, folding or collapsible stock, flare launcher, flash hider. If it has ANY of those, it needs a magazine locking device.

Never initiate force against another. That should be the underlying principle of your life. But should someone do violence to you, retaliate without hesitation, without reservation, without quarter, until you are sure that he will never wish to harm - or never be capable of harming - you or yours again.

Bullet button installation is quite simple.

If your lower is manufactured by:

        American Spirit
        Armalite
        Bushmaster
        Colt
        Dalphon
        DPMS
        Eagle Arms
        Frankford Arsenal
        Hesse Arms
        Knights
        Les Baer
        Olympic Arms
        Ordnance Inc
        Palmetto
        Professional Ordnance Inc
        PWA
        Rock River Arms Inc
        Wilson Combat

        you better check with

to make sure they aren't listed by model.
If they are, they'll be considered assault weapons in CA. In this case, you can replace your lower with one not on the list.

I'm close to Los Gatos, nice little (rich, white) town in the multicultural silicon valley. I can't help on the rifle question, but interested on the answer. For the mags, I suggest you leave them with a friend out of state and avoid the hassle here.

The Santa Clara County field sports range is on Metcalf Road in SJ for a public place to shoot. Range staff are good people.

Check the flow chart up at the top,

            But the cliffnotes are:

            30 inches overall length
16 inch barrel or 14.5 with a 1.5 muzzle device (perm)
            10 rd mag
Mag locking device of your choosing
Disassemble the mags They will become rebuild kits.
