    Need Advise..Legal or not??

Hello, i live in California and bought a Par 1 Pump Action Ak47 a while back. You may have sen them at Big 5 and Turners. Basically a California legal version of an ak. Not the greatest gun by all means but it is fun to shoot. Any ways i recently bought a 6 position stock that also folds to the side. is this legal in CA on this gun since its not semi auto and basically a single shot firearm? If anyone has any info for me that would be great. thank you

It's not single shot, but it is correct that it's not a semi-auto centerfire rifle. As long as the 26" minimum OAL is maintained with the stock in it's shortest position, should be fine.

Should be good to go. Only thing you might have to watch is overall length.

Since it's not a semi-auto centerfire, it's not subject to the "evil features" that would prevent a large capacity mag from being used. So if you've got some old 30rd. mags, yeah you can use 'em in it.

You will be fine with a folding stock so long as the OAL when folded is more than 26 inches. This keeps it out of California SBR territory. I would have to verify the code section or perhaps someone else can cite it.

Basically, the only way to have a rifle with a OAL of less than 30 but greater than 26, is to have it non- semi. Some people have modified their FS2000 so it fires only after the bolt has been pulled back after each shot thus allowing its less than 30 inch length.

The pump AK does not have any of the AW feature restrictions since it is not a semi-auto.
