Greetings, fellow Californios. After a long period of inactivity in the trading scene, I put up a big chunk of my collection on another forum, made some deals and learned that UPS now requires all handguns to be shipped next day, which is about five times more expensive than shipping via ground.
I haven't shipped a firearm in a few years, and I did my research and double-checked 18 USC 922 to make sure that I, as a non-licensee, could still ship to a licensee but I never considered that the source of change was going to be UPS itself.
Now I'm looking for an FFL holder that does licensee to licensee shipping, who is trustworthy and reliable enough to simply take my packaged handguns and deliver them to USPS for shipment to the FFL holder on the other end.
Specifically, I'm looking for folks in the San Francisco Bay Area, as local to me as possible. SF Gun Exchange is gone, Siegel's is gone, Traders is out of the business, which leaves Old West Gun Room, who doesn't want to handle shipments.
Any recommendations from my fellow Bay Area residents? Not looking forward to losing $150 per pistol on shipping. Thanks.
