Black Rifles by COLT back in Cali...?

How did they get by the "OLL"? Does this mean we can now bring to CA completely stripped Colt lowers and attach bullet buttons ourselfs?

They were showing one to a guy when I was at Sac Black Rifle over the weekend. Believe they said that Colt renamed it or something to that effect. Probably more to it than that, but they can be had now.

Colt changed what they roll mark onto the side of the receiver from either AR 15 or Sporter both of which are banned by name to "M4"

M4 is not on the banned list and come with a BB so are legal to buy and own in Ca. They are in your gun shops now.

Why buy a Colt stripped lower? Colt doesn't sell stripped lowers, so they would be used (stripped from a complete rifle) AND sold at a decent markup since they aren't otherwise available in stripped form.

Besides, the money that you pay to get Colt quality isn't so much in the lower. Anyone can make a Colt quality lower. Colt quality is in the assembly and parts of the complete rifle.

I mean, you can always buy a BMW badge and put it on a Honda, but that doesn't make your Honda perform like a BMW.

Laws that forbid the carrying of arms...disarm only those who are neither inclined nor determined to commit crimes...Such laws make things worse for the assaulted and better for the assailants; they serve rather to encourage than to prevent homicides, for an unarmed man may be attacked with greater confidence than an armed man.

A gent picked up a Colt M4 next to me in the gun store today. It looked like a solid, well-built AR...exactly what you'd expect from Colt.

LoL, I have a BMW M6 AND I just picked up one of these Colt M4s. When the store told me I had to wait 10 days to pick it up, I told him I've been waiting almost 20 years so 10 days is nothing. But I still can't wait.
Anyone want to buy a S&W M&P-15 complete lower? Don't need it now

NO, the older Colts are STILL banned by name.

There are only a select few Colts pre-2011, that are NOT banned by name. Colt Just recently changed their roll mark making their new line of AR15s OLL.

With all the other top brands out there (LMT, LWRC, Noveske, etc) is Colt really that great still? I understand the history here, but outside of just buying the name, what are you getting that you wouldn't get from another manufacturer?

Yes, Colt really is that great still.

Granted, they don't make anything "special" and high end like a Noveske barrel for example, but Colt's QA/QC process is probably the best in the entire industry and they extend it to EVERY single individual part in the firearm.
