    Anyone use a Stack-On in-wall cabinet?

Being short on closet and storage space, I am considering one of these in-wall cabinets to store a few firearms:

This is basically an in-wall version of the green Stack-On cabinets available at Big5. I understand this is not a safe nor a vault and am aware of its limitations. I live in a condo (with a monitored security system and a cranky cat - watch out!) and have few viable options for firearms storage. This seems like a good alternative to the cabinets that would eat up a lot of closet space.

If you own one or have used one in the past, how did it work out for you? Was installation difficult? Any other issues to consider before buying?

    Thanks!

Looks fine if you can't have a real safe. I ordered a Stack On cabinet and it was a bit dented when it arrived. I called the vendor and they gave me a break on the price. If you were to put a full size hinged mirror over it or a shoe rack, it's likely nobody would even know it's there. It's certainly better than sticking the guns under the bed.

As long as you are the only person who knows it's there and you mask it well I don't see why it shouldn't work, it's better than nothing...maybe get this and the Sentry 5 gun that Walmart sells, it's pretty small and light.

I'd fill that one, bolt it to the wall then fill it with ammo and use it as a ruse for anybody who does happen to break in. That way they will waste time..sure they MIGHT get the ammo, but the firearms will be safe.

It looks like the "home run" box in my house that houses all the phone, tv, and Internet connections. I'm guessing most people would have a clue it's a gun lock box.

Way better than nothing, and not much worse than the cheapest "safe". If you can stick it in a corner that defeats some prybar leverage, even better.

made for in-wall mounting-between the studs; space saver. beats a blank in keeping guns away from small children in the home.
