How much is this gun worth?

Hey guys,

I was curious if it would be worth listing a shotgun I have for sale. It's a Mossberg Silver Reserve O/U Combo with both 12 ga and 20 ga barrel sets (i.e. depending on which barrel you put on it it'll either be a 12ga o/u or a 20ga o/u). It has about 50 shells through it and from the date of manufacture, it was well after they fixed the issue with the firing pins. It's in 98% condition. Is this something that gun people might be interested in? If so, what's a fair asking price for it?

To the mods, I am NOT trying to circumvent any rules here, I'm basically asking for an appraisal and "is it worth selling or better to hang on to it?" So if I am in any violation of anything, please let me know and I will change/move/or delete as needed.

I sold one a year or so back that was basically new in box. I shot it once and sold it. It sold for $400. It was a 12ga and did not have the 20ga barrels. Hope this helps a bit. I'm just telling you my experience with mine so your mileage may vary. I have no idea if the market for them has gone up, down, or stayed the same.

One sold on gunbroker on Oct 13 for $730

There were 46 bids. (started at a penny)

Apparently a few people like them. I didn't see any others with the second set of barrels.

Well after some very quick research I found that the going rate for a NEW Mossberg O/U Silver Reserve with both 12ga and 20ga barrels are going for around $800 give or take $30-$40. I honestly don't think you will get near that, but who knows. If I were you and you decide to sell I would ask $650-$700 and see what happens. I doubt you will get that, but like I said before I am not up to date on the value (besides quick research) of the Silver Reserve. Depending on how much you payed and if you are in need of quick cash I would say take $600 if you can get it.

I must say this again. I am in no way telling you a price to sell your gun I am simply going off what I have researched and what I would personally do if in need of cash. You need to decide what it is worth to you and what you think is a fair offer for it.
