Curious Question About An Older Gun

So my question: When I turned 18, my step father passed ob his Marlin 15yn rifle to me to use. It was never registered in my name, and he says when he bought it he didn't have to DROS it or anything. I now have someone who is looking to buy... is the gun still legally my step fathers property?

SO how old is the gun now?
    Is your Step-Dad still alive?
Actually I only started collecting Milsurps 3 years ago. I think I might own about 24...They're cheaper than guns that will most likely never get the opportunity to kill somebody...

I belong to the group that uses firearms, and knows which bathroom to use.

Tis better to have Trolled & lost, Than to never have Trolled, at all.

He is still alive, and purchased the gun in the late 80s I believe. He's been very fuzzy with the details, which almost makes me want to just give the gun back and be done with it.

No long gun registration....YET, unless your step-dad volreged it you should be G2G.
A gun, like any other source of power, is a force for either good or evil, being neither in itself, but dependent upon those who possess it.
