Has anybody else hit the one checkout problem at the Gun Vault in Mountain View. I was amazed. Stopped by and found a well stocked store but waited in line an enormous amount of time before giving up. Staff explained they have only one checkout and a guy DROSing held it up while he went out to his car etc....

You mean one cash register? Most gun stores I've been to only have one regsiter. I've never had a problem when I've been in Gun Vault. Not sure why they couldn't just ring you up while the other guy went out to his car. I've also never been charged more than $35 for a PPT there - and I've done a few there this year.Comment

I think they charge storage fees after 10 days on a PPT, but my last PPT was a year ago there I IIRC..
The shop seems to stay pretty busy...last time I bought ammo there on my way to Los Altos it took a little while but nothing unreasonable...heck compared to buying ammo at the MV wal-mart it was quite speedy...

I've never had a problem there either. I will admit you have to fight your way past the lookie-loos at the counter but the staff there has always been attentive and helpful to me.

Haven't been there this year, or ever since they charged more than the $35 and claimed it was a storage fee (was definitely more than a year ago). The pickup day fell on a Sunday and since they were open, they charged me a storage fee to pick up on Monday. Now more educated, I don't ever go there when there are alternatives in the area.

They may have relaxed that policy. A few months back I had a pickup fall on a date that they were open but I was out of state. I picked it up the following Monday and it was no problem and still only cost $35. I did ask about the "storage fee" at the time of transfer as they have you initial the policy on the receipt. They said it was mostly for stuff that is left for over a weeks time. I'm sure milage may vary though.Haven't been there this year, or ever since they charged more than the $35 and claimed it was a storage fee (was definitely more than a year ago).
