I just read ANOTHER "woe is me" thread by someone that's had their home burglarized and guns stolen. Buy a safe! Everyone complains about crime and criminals getting guns. Buy a safe! The criminals get guns from us gun owners that don't properly secure them. Buy a safe! Don't let YOUR gun kill an innocent victim during the next crime. Buy a safe! I seriously doubt that the criminal that killed a Police Officer in Vallejo earlier this week purchased his weapon from an FFL. Buy a safe! It's common to see 10-12 gun safes on sale at Lowes, Home Depot, etc. for around $250, much cheaper than most firearms. Buy a safe! Keeping your firearms safe and secure from children and from theft is part of being a responsible gun owner. Buy a safe! The next victim of violent crime could very well be YOU or one of YOUR loved ones. BUY A SAFE!

I was told once by a guy at a rifle line that he has 4 "cabinets" bolted side by side together from the inside. Although it's fairly light, good luck getting that thing out of the house and loading it without being seen. He said drilling through the sides was easier than he had imagined. He started with one, then added another one, then decided to add the 3rd and bolt them together. He had just added the 4th when I spoke with him.

Thought it was in interesting way of doing it.

Hehehe, I think my brother got one from Big 5, very basic and could fit about 5 long guns in it for about $120 bucks about 6-8 months ago.

Agree 100%. Years ago in the middle of a gun buying spree,I started to get paranoid about leaving my guns.Bought a good safe instead of another gun.Had trouble committing to the safe instead of another gun.After I bought it,the peace of mind was worth the price of the safe.
